Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner List an Airy NYC Penthouse for $23.5 Million

Just a few weeks after purchasing the largest unit in the Puck Penthouses in New York City, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner have listed a smaller apartment in that same building for $23.5 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. The married couple paid $18 million for the 5,672 square foot unit back in 2018, and though they’ve since welcomed their first child and presumably need more space, clearly they were not ready to leave the building.

The unit they’re selling has four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, and is certainly spacious in its own right. It spans two floors, and the upper floor can be reached either through a private elevator, or more dramatically, the winding white oak staircase. Along with the bedrooms and common areas, the space features a home gym and two spacious dressing rooms, one of which measures nearly the same size as the unit’s guest bedrooms. The primary bedroom contains a sleeping area and a sitting area with a minimal gas fireplace, the aforementioned dressing rooms, and two bathrooms, the larger of which has Arabescato Oro marble covered floors and walls and a freestanding tub.

Beyond amenities, the space’s barrel vaulted ceilings, plethora of exposed brick, and original cast iron beams subtly add character to the space. The unique kitchen adds a sense of playfulness to the space with its trendy sea foam green cabinets and dramatic steel and brass La Cornue range. With the island on casters, it’s simple to transform the kitchen depending on day-to-day countertop needs.

The apartment they’ve settled on, which they’re reportedly now in contract for, is a penthouse in the historic Puck Building which is located in the Nolita neighborhood and dates back to 1885. While details on the price the couple paid are unavailable, it was last on the market in March of 2019 for $42.5 million.

Home near Central Park received $20 million more than asking price.

Talk about mispricing. An Upper East Side triplex sold last week for $60 million, the most expensive Manhattan co-op sale since 2015 and a whopping $20 million more than the asking price, as five billionaires slugged it out for bragging rights to the 7,000-square-foot penthouse.

Jacqui Safra, a banking scion who has produced Woody Allen films, sold the home in a private, all-cash deal, according to Mansion Global. The buyer of the penthouse, at 2 East 88th Street, hasn’t been identified.

The 12-room unit spans the 14th, 15th and 16th floors and includes a two-level wraparound terrace, a staff wing, a gym and two floors for entertainment.

It was shown for just a single day back in May. A contract was signed within 24 hours. Nikki Field of Sotheby’s, who represented the seller, said she showed it to seven billionaires and received five offers.

Safra lived there for 30 years with his significant other, producer Jean Doumanian. The 81-year-old decided to sell because they weren’t often at the home. Safra told Field he hadn’t even been to the third floor in several years, according to the publication.

Actress Bette Midler sold her own triplex penthouse in the same Carnegie Hill neighborhood just a few months ago. Her initial asking price was $50 million and it ultimately sold for $45 million.
